How to Replace Your Lenses at HomeUpdated 2 hours ago
Replacing your sunglass lenses at home is quick and easy! Follow the step-by-step instructions below for your specific frame type, or check out our full library of model-specific tutorials on our YouTube channel. (Fun fact: One of our owner's daughters even swapped out her first pair when she was only 8 years old with a cast on!)
Step-by-Step Installation Guides
Plastic Frames
Removing Lenses: Grab your frames facing away from you, then push on the inside nasal corner (the frame's weak spot) to pop the lenses out.
Installing Lenses: Hold your frames facing you, line up the outside edge of the lens with the outer edge of the frame, and press the lenses along the edges up to the nasal corner until you hear the pop!
Wire Frames
Removing Lenses: Use an optical screwdriver to locate and loosen the screws. Try not to take them out all the way, as they are very easy to lose! Once loosened, pop out the old lenses.
Installing Lenses: Line up the edges of the lenses with the edges of your frames, pop the lenses into place, and tighten the temple screws back up.
Half Frames
Removing Lenses: Hold your frames facing you and pull the lens down and away from the frame.
Installing Lenses: Keep your frames facing you, line up the lens with the outside notch in the frame, and slide the inside notch into place.

Troubleshooting Stubborn Lenses
Sometimes lenses can be tough to get out (especially glass lenses!). If you are running into trouble:
Soak in Warm, Soapy Water: Let your frames soak in warm, soapy water for about 30 seconds. This helps loosen the lenses and makes plastic frames more malleable. You can repeat this process a few times if needed.
Visit a Local Optical Shop: Most local optical shops will assist in changing lenses, often free of charge. (Note: We recommend visiting a dedicated optical shop rather than a standard sunglasses or accessory store).
Professional Installation: Fuse offers professional installation as part of our custom lens service for a $30 fee.
Contact Us: Reach out to our customer service team if you need extra guidance.
⚠️ Important Note: The sunglasses shown in tutorials may differ from your specific model, and installation steps can vary by brand or style. We’re unfortunately unable to cover damage caused during lens removal.
