My lens coating is peeling or my lenses have spots or distortion. Is this covered?Updated an hour ago
Yes, you're covered. Manufacturing defects reported within 60 days of delivery are fixed at no cost under our 60-day guarantee. After 60 days, damage or wear is covered by your Lifetime, 1-Time Replacement Warranty.
What counts as a defect
Contact us right away if you notice any of these on new lenses:
- Mirror or anti-reflective coating peeling, bubbling, or flaking
- Spots, rings, or a cloudy circle that won't clean off
- Wavy marks or distortion, especially near the edge
- Double images or blur that isn't present with your original lenses
Normal wear vs. defects
Over time, sand, saltwater, and wiping with clothing can wear down any lens coating. Mirror coatings contain metal, so saltwater exposure can cause them to corrode or flake if lenses aren't rinsed with fresh water after use. See How does saltwater affect sunglasses? and How to Clean Your Lenses.
Wear and damage are still covered by your lifetime warranty. The only difference is which coverage we use.
| When it happens | What covers it | Does it use my warranty? |
| Within 60 days of delivery, manufacturing defect | 60-Day Guarantee | No |
| After 60 days, or wear/damage at any time | Lifetime, 1-Time Replacement Warranty | Yes |

- I see a ring in the middle of each lens. Is that normal? No. Send us a photo and your order number, and we'll take a look.
- Do I need to send the damaged lenses back? No, your defective lenses are not required to be sent back in, unless they are requested for quality assurance reasons
